A dangerous beauty: English rose Keira Knightley promotes new film A Dangerous Method at the Toronto Film Festival

She may be playing a sexually masochistic neurotic in her new film, but luckily for Keira Knightley, life is not imitating art.
The 26-year-old English rose looked sweet, innocent and downright wholesome while promoting her new film, A Dangerous Method, at the Toronto International Film Festival tonight
Earlier in the day she donned peach and pink two-pieced floral getup with modest camel-coloured heels, and they were still in place when she slipped into a stunning vintage-lace mini-dress for the film's screening.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star looked more likely to be attending a high tea then topless and strapped to a bed while being thrashed by her lover.

However, that's the Keira viewers will be seeing in her latest, buzz-worthy film.

 

The movie tells the tale of Sabina Spielrein, a beautiful but troubled Russian who suffers from uncontrollable and violent fits, and Carl Jung, the married Swiss psychiatrist, who agrees to treat her.
It is based on Christopher Hampton’s 2003 play The Talking Cure and regarded as one of the prestige projects of the year.

Although she always looks as pretty as picture, the British actress has confided that she's never felt entirely comfortable in feminine frocks like the glittering gown she wore over Labor Day weekend to the Venice Film Festival.
'I've definitely got a bit of the boyish in me,' she told the UK's Marie Claire, describing her style as 'boyish chic.'
She added, 'Growing up I was a tomboy. I didn't wear skirts until I was 14. I hated them. I love a man's shirt.'

Gerard Butler was also on hand to premiere his new movie, Machine Gun Preacher.
